COMPARISON WITH OTHER TREATMENTS

Only the Sentricon® System forms a ring of protection that doesn’t degrade over time and turns termites’ constant foraging behavior against them. It’s putting science to work to protect your home. See why it’s the smart choice when compared with other available control methods.

OTHER TREATMENTS YOU MAY HAVE HEARD ABOUT

Other Baits
While homeowners increasingly choose baits over liquids to protect their homes, it’s important to know that not all baits are the same. The original termite bait, the Sentricon System, has been protecting homes for more than 20 years. More than 60 studies document that Sentricon is the only termite bait proven to eliminate the colony. For active infestations, Sentricon AG (above-ground) stations can begin the colony elimination process immediately. Plus, Sentricon® offers the confidence from knowing that all stations are baited 24/7/365 and will be serviced by a Certified Sentricon Specialist™.

Treated Wood
Applied during construction, or when trying to save infested structures, borates and pressure treatments are used to penetrate the surface of bare wood to protect it against termites. Borates are toxic to the termites, but they are not designed to be lethal to the termite colony. Additionally, termites can construct tunnels over the surface of treated wood.

Do-It-Yourself Tools
Some termite treatments are available in retail stores, including foams, liquids, powders and baits. However, homeowners lack the knowledge, time, training, tools and commitment necessary to use these products to protect their home from termite damage. Unlike DIY plumbing, electrical or other repairs, you can’t see your results because the termites are not visible. Additionally, DIY products do not eliminate the colony, and many DIY product labels state that they are not recommended as the sole protection from termites. That’s why many university experts encourage consulting a professional for an annual termite inspection and treatment.
