Find out how American Pest and the Sentricon system are protecting The Children’s Inn at NIH from termites.
A place for kids to be kids. That’s what The Children’s Inn in Bethesda, Maryland, provides to seriously ill children whose only hope for a treatment is a clinical trial at National Institutes of Health. Every year, more than 1,700 children from across the United States and the world find “a place like home” at The Inn, where lodging, meals and recreational, educational and therapeutic services are provided free of charge to help reduce the burden of illness on families, allow childhood to thrive and help advance medical research at NIH.
To help protect the 66,000-square-foot facility from potentially destructive subterranean termites, The Children’s Inn received a preventative installation of the Sentricon® system this summer. While American Pest has provided general pest control services to the property for over 25 years, the recent installation of 154 Sentricon stations will do even more to proactively protect this structure from termites.
“The safety and well-being of our children and families is our top priority,” said Cathy Morales, The Inn’s chief program and services officer. “It was very important for us to find a safe, proactive termite protection system that could be installed without disrupting the safety or comfort of our children and families. Sentricon did just that, and their generosity will help The Inn continue to be a vital resource for seriously ill children and their families for years to come.”
Dow AgroSciences donated the materials, and American Pest donated its labor and time for the installation. The pest control company also will continue to provide ongoing preventative protection of the property, including annual inspections of the Sentricon stations.
